About Karrie Baldwin

Artist StatementIMG_E3316

I am inspired to paint  the beauty and diversity of this amazing landscape.  I strive to capture the color of the sunset or the reflection and shimmer on the water and the feeling I have as I stand in light absorbing its warmth and color.  It is all about the light. For me, the process of painting creates a connection to the memory of that place.  As I paint, I experience the light and emotion, finding shapes, color and patterns.  I give this energy to each painting with hope that others might experience this as well.

-Karrie Baldwin

Karrie received a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Utah in 2003.

Karrie participates in plein air events and juried exhibitions wherever she may travel. She lives in scenic Montana which is where she finds that Montana blue in her paintings.  Her impressionistic paintings focus on light, contrast and color, they are sensitive, yet express the energy, emotion and sense of place. Karrie’s goal is to create a painting that calls to the viewer to look, then look again.
